The American University of Paris (AUP) offers automatic IB Scholarships based on final IB diploma scores, plus consideration for additional need-based funding through AUP’s financial aid program.

Automatic IB Scholarships

You will receive an AUP IB Scholarship based on your official IB Diploma score as follows:

Final IB Score of 41 or higher

€20, 000 per year

(represents nearly 75% of full-time tuition)

Final IB Score of 37-40

€13, 000 per year

(nearly 50% of full-time tuition)

Final IB Score of 33-36

€5, 000 per year

The IB Scholarship will be automatically awarded when we receive your official results, and does not require that you apply for need-based financial aid.

IB Students at AUP

At AUP, we count IB students among our strongest and most active students on campus, both inside and outside the classroom. With AUP’s interdisciplinary curriculum and our uniquely diverse and adventurous international student body and faculty, IB students tend to quickly cultivate a strong sense of fit and adaptability within our own community, and are poised to take full advantage of the broader learning opportunities that AUP’s location in Paris offers.

The Fine Print

An IB Scholarship is automatic; you do not need to complete a separate application. It is based on your final IB diploma score. Official IB results must be submitted to the admissions office by the beginning of the first day of classes of the student’s first semester at AUP. IB Scholarships cannot not be awarded retroactively or adjusted if a student fails to notify the admissions office of IB results in time or retakes part of the exam at a later date.

You may still choose to apply for AUP institutional financial aid, well in advance of receiving your final IB results. AUP regularly awards a significant amount of need-based financial aid and other scholarships to IB students. However, if you qualify for both an IB Scholarship and receive any other AUP institutional financial aid, you will receive the larger award; a student may not combine the IB Diploma Scholarship with any other financial aid awards.

The IB scholarships are awarded to students who are registered full-time in the fall and spring semesters and the total annual scholarship is split evenly between the two semesters. Students beginning in the spring semester would qualify for half of the annual amount.

To continue receiving the IB Scholarship at AUP each year, you must be registered full-time in the fall and spring semesters and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. The award is fixed at the same amount each subsequent year as in the first year.

The IB Scholarship is available to students who begin their first semester at AUP in fall 2014 or after.
